Metroid Redesigns

For a few years I have been noodling on a bunch of different Metroid themed designs. There is a lot I can say about the project but I'm tired of it hanging over my head. I learned a lot, and I'm putting it to bed unfinished. I got lost in the designs and probably never really had a clear idea of why I was even working on this project in the first place. Might be worth a bigger postmortem someday... Anyway, I wanted to put some images out there of the journey and bid it farewell.

Samus’ Ship

The ship was conceived to have a cutout revealing the different rooms that she’d have on her ship. It also has a dropship that detaches at the front to use as a planetary lander while the main ship stays in orbit.

Environments

Here are some tests I started making of armor designs on the plates, and a rough block in of the NES starting environment. Between these environments and seeing the ship again, it really makes me want to jump back in and finish some of these thoughts. But not right now…
